New England Public School has updated the 2024-2025 school calendar for the second semester to include additional Professional Development days for staff. These designated dates are January 17, February 14, and April 17. On these days, school will operate on a half-day schedule, with dismissal at 1:00 PM. Please see our school website for the updated calendar. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

There will be NO sub-varsity game tomorrow, January 2. It will be a varsity game ONLY. Game time will be 6pm.

A Girls' Basketball Junior Varsity game has been added on Friday, December 20. There will now be a JV game starting at 5:30pm followed by the Varsity at approximately 7:00pm.

Due to hazardous road conditions and a no-travel advisory in Hettinger County, New England Public School will operate on a delayed schedule. Classes will begin at 10:00 AM, with student access to the building starting at 9:45 AM. Please note that breakfast services and morning preschool sessions will not be provided.

Due to the possibility of poor road conditions later today, Junior High Boys' and Girls' basketball practices have been canceled.

The New England Boys' Basketball team will be playing Beqch in the Roughrider tournament on Tuesday, 12/17/24 @ 6:00pm. All tournament games will be broadcasted on NFHS and Consolidated Cable.

The JH GBB game tonight in Elgin is moved to the Mott Armory. It still starts at 4:00 pm.

Dear Families,
We want to inform you that several illnesses, including pertussis (whooping cough), are currently circulating in our schools. To help prevent the spread of illness, we strongly advise keeping your child at home if they are feeling unwell.

Band Students: Report to the music room at 5:30 PM.
All Others: Be in your classrooms by 5:45 PM.
Dress Code:
5th/6th Grade Band: Dress nicely, follow the school dress code, and you may add Christmas colors if you wish.
High School Band/Choir/Music Appreciation: Wear concert black attire, follow the dress code, and you may also add Christmas colors if you wish.

Our 2nd annual Food and Hygiene Drive is back! The drive will take place from December 11th-17th. All grades can participate. There will be a winning class from both the elementary school and the high school. Classes with the most items collected will win a pizza party from Dominoes! Any food or personal hygiene items are acceptable and appreciated, but some items are worth more points than others. The point system can be found on our website and our Facebook page. Please do not send expired food.

Dear Parents,
Old Man Winter has finally arrived in our area. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed for the weather. Winter attire should include a coat and snow pants or a snowsuit, hat or headwear, boots, gloves or mittens, and gym shoes. Students without proper winter attire will not be able to participate in recess.
